India’s Dominance Comes To An End
Australia recorded a convincing 6 wicket win at the Sydney Cricket Ground to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 3-1 and confirmed their participation in the Final of the WTC in June this year. Needing just 162 runs to win (after India’s lower quickly capitulated), the Aussies shrugged off some early nerves and reached the target with ease. The absence of Jasprit Bumrah made the chase that much easier. A decade of India’s dominance and hold on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy came to an end.

From The Highs Of Perth
After the highs of Perth, it was a continuous and frustrating fall for the Indian Team. Ashwin left midway and Rohit the captain dropped himself at Sydney. But none of these decisions had any positive impact on the results that followed.
Tall Bumrah Dwarfs India Batters
Jasprit Bumrah stood tall amongst the ruins and was named the Player of the Series, a little consolation for a big opportunity lost. The bowlers , in my opinion, gave everything on the gruelling tour despite the unwanted criticism of their performance. It was not the bowlers responsible for India’s loss but it were the batters who have repeatedly been below par for a long time now.

Rohit, Virat, Rahul, Gill Disappoint
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Reddy were the only bright sparks in the batting line-up and though Rishabh Pant played a memorable knock yesterday it was a disappointing tour for his standards. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli appear to be well past their prime and KL Rahul and Shubhman Gill remain consistently inconsistent and unfortunately have repeatedly failed to answer the call of millions of fans. With such a frail batting order, winning in Australia was a pipe dream and so it turned out to be.
Relentless Australia at Sydney
Australia battled hard when it mattered. Played the crunch situations extremely well and were relentless when they bowled to the Indian Batters. Their batting struggled too, but Travis Head and Steve Smith played some crucial knocks in the middle to take the game away. Rattling the Indian Batters was no big deal, which eventually proved the difference between the two sides.
Border-Gavaskar Trophy eventually surrendered after a Decade.
