Gauff: A Reality Check For Boisson
Lois Boisson, the French favourite having a sensational Grand Slam debut, eventually got a bit of a reality check. The Wild Card entrant ranked 361st in the world ran into Coco Gauff, the World no. 2, and was comprehensively beaten 6-1, 6-2 in just over an hour in the semi-finals.
Solid From Coco & Weak From Boisson
Coco Gauff playing some solid tennis was too good for the error-prone Boisson who tried hard, but lacked energy. Gauff was unrelenting, playing deft strokes, covering the court with elan, and keeping the ball in play at all times was too much for Boisson to handle.
Coco Gets Past Inexperienced Boisson
The heavily partisan spectators egged Boisson on for her to stage a comeback, which never arrived. She tried to push the lines but in the process made 33 unforced errors against just 8 winners. Coco played like an experienced pro, fighting the opponent and the crowd with gusto. She made just 15 unforced errors while executing 12 winners, which in the end proved enough for Boisson.
Boisson: A Great Tennis Story
Boisson’s progress in her very first Grand Slam is a great story and an inspirational one at that. The French athlete with huge potential, particularly on clay will be a force to reckon with in the years to come.
Coco-Sabalenka: A Great Final In Store
Coco Gauff will be up against Sabalenka on Saturday, which promises to be one cracker of a game, and certainly a new French Open Champion shall emerge.
