alcaraz beats musetti

Alcaraz Moves To The Finals

The match looked promising at the start, but ended in a whimper as Lorenzo Musetti pulled out of the duel in the 4th set, handing over victory to Alcaraz. The Defending Champion thus moving to the Finals with a chance to defend his Title.

Musetti Pockets The First Set

The Spaniard was expecting a good show from Musetti, but was further surprised by his stroke play as the Italian stole the first set from right under Alcaraz’s nose 6-4, to give the Champion a wake-up call.

The Champion Replies Strongly By Winning The Second

The second set too was keenly fought, and though Alcaraz broke Musetti’s serve twice, he lost his serve too in equal measure. The Italian pushed the 2nd set into a tie-breaker, where he probably got injured. Alcaraz dominated the tie-breaker, winning it 7-3  this taking the second set 7-6.

Musetti Injures Himself And Then Withdraws As Alcaraz Sweeps The Third

Once the third set started, a struggling Musetti was unable to keep pace with Alcaraz. The Spaniard swept the 3rd set 6-0 and led 2-0 in the 4th, when Musetti called it quits. His injury was severely hampering his movement and the young player thought it best to exit rather than further aggravate his injury.

Alcaraz: Humble In Defeat

Alcaraz showed great humility in victory and applauded Musetti as he left the court. The Defending Champion would be facing either Jannik Sinner or Novak Djokovic in the Final on Sunday. What a game it is expected to be. The best in the world are coming face to face for the trophy and the big prize.

We shall know on Sunday.
