However, Netflix has not announced the exact premiere date or confirmed how many episodes the new season will contain. What Will Happen in Season 2?

The upcoming season begins with Sakamoto and Shin Asakura infiltrating the Japan Clear Creation Academy (JCC), an institution that trains assassins. Their mission is to obtain information about X, also known as Slur, the mysterious figure connected to a growing conspiracy within the assassin world.

Sakamoto takes an undercover teaching role, even disguising himself as his wife, Aoi, while Shin enters the academy as a student. Their mission introduces them to unfamiliar opponents and forces them to navigate an environment where dangerous fighters can appear in unexpected places.

Meanwhile, ORDER members Nagumo, Shishiba, and Osaragi head to Kyoto for an assignment. Their mission takes a dangerous turn when an unexpected attacker ambushes them. The season will also explore the shared history of Sakamoto, Nagumo, Rion Akao, and Slur. These connections could reveal more about the events that shaped the characters before the main story began.

Who Are the New Characters in Season 2?

Netflix and the anime’s production team have highlighted three new characters in the Season 2 promotional material.

  • Amane: Voiced by Kikunosuke Toya, Amane is a JCC student who strongly opposes the Japanese Association of Assassins. His hostility toward the organisation makes him an important character during Sakamoto and Shin’s undercover mission.
  • Etsuko Satoda: Voiced by Misa Watanabe, Satoda is the JCC’s longest-serving teacher. She previously trained Sakamoto and his classmates and possesses formidable martial arts skills, particularly in aikido.
  • Yotsumura: Voiced by Shinshu Fuji, Yotsumura is a former high-ranking member of the Japanese Association of Assassins and one of ORDER’s founding figures. Following an incident that led to his downfall, he has remained in hiding. His past connection to Shishiba adds another layer to the upcoming storyline.

These characters bring different perspectives to the assassin world, from students questioning its established order to veterans whose past decisions continue to shape the present.
