Leon and a group of fellow convicts are transported into the ruined territory and ordered to retrieve an ancient weapon known as TORATSUGUMI. They have one year to locate it, but failure means death. The mission quickly becomes more dangerous than expected. The survivors encounter enormous monsters, strange remnants of the old world, and creatures whose existence challenges their understanding of what happened to Japan.
The biggest mystery surrounds the weapon itself. Leon’s mission is connected to a mysterious girl named Tsugumi, whose unusual appearance and extraordinary strength make her unlike an ordinary human. As Leon searches for the weapon, he must survive the hostile environment while uncovering the truth behind the wasteland and its inhabitants.

What Makes Tsugumi Project Different?
Rather than presenting a conventional post-apocalyptic adventure, Tsugumi Project combines survival action with mysteries surrounding a lost civilisation. Its ruined landscapes, mutated creatures, and forgotten technology create a world where every discovery could reveal something dangerous about humanity’s past. The manga’s detailed artwork is another major attraction, making the anime’s eventual approach to its creatures and devastated environments worth watching. Will Leon discover the truth about TORATSUGUMI and earn his freedom, or will Old Japan claim another group of unfortunate survivors?
