The latest announcement on October 15 revealed a new promotional video, fresh character details, and two additional voice cast members.
With stronger enemies emerging and a new challenge awaiting Yuya in the Kingdom of Regal, the upcoming season promises to expand the series’ mix of fantasy battles, character development, and modern-day wish fulfilment.

When Does I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World Season 2 Release?
Season 2 is scheduled to premiere in January 2027. The official website confirmed the release window alongside the first key visual and promotional video. However, the exact premiere date and international streaming arrangements have not yet been announced.
The returning production team includes director Shin Itagaki, character designer Hiromi Kimura, and animation studio Millepensee. The main voice cast will also return, including Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Yuya Tenjo, Akari Kito as Kaori Hojo, and Kaori Maeda as Lexia von Arselia. The announcement follows the franchise’s new television special, which aired in March 2026 and continued Yuya’s story after the original 2023 season.

What Will Happen in Season 2?
The story continues after Yuya and his allies defeat the Fist Saint and welcome powerful new companions into their group. These include Ouma, a legendary dragon associated with the world’s creation, and Kuro, the embodiment of Evil hidden within Yuti. Although Yuya has overcome another dangerous opponent, his journey is becoming more complicated. He must train to control the newly acquired power of Evil while its influence continues spreading across the other world.
Meanwhile, trouble is brewing in the Kingdom of Regal. Yuya is scheduled to participate in a formal match against the Sword Saint, described in the official synopsis as the strongest of the Holy figures. This confrontation could become a major test of Yuya’s abilities, particularly as he continues learning how to handle powers that he does not yet fully understand. The series will also retain its dual-world premise. Yuya’s extraordinary strength affects his adventures in the fantasy world, but his connections and experiences in modern Japan remain an important part of his character’s development.

Who Are the New Characters in Season 2?
Two new characters were introduced in the October 15 announcement.
- Iris Knowblade: Voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa, Iris is described as a strong, dignified, and confident girl. Her relationship with Yuya is expected to become an important part of the upcoming story, although the production team has not revealed every detail about her role.
- Mai Kagurazaka: Voiced by Sora Amamiya, Mai is a mysterious young woman who wears a shrine maiden outfit. Beneath her reserved exterior, she has a caring side and can become unexpectedly shy and inexperienced in certain situations.
Their introduction expands the cast as Yuya’s adventures bring him into contact with new personalities and challenges.

Millepensee is returning to animate the second season, with Shin Itagaki directing and Hiromi Kimura handling character designs. The production continues under UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS, with music by Akiyuki Tateyama and SHIKI.
