Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 is in production but has no confirmed release date. Here is the latest update on the 2027 rumor, story, and sequel status.
As of October 10, 2026, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 has no officially confirmed release date. The sequel is in active production, but fans waiting for Tanjiro’s next battle against Muzan Kibutsuji still do not have a confirmed release year. The first Infinity Castle movie arrived in 2025, beginning a planned trilogy adapting the final battle from Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga. Although September 2027 has circulated as a possible release date for Part 2, neither ufotable nor Crunchyroll has officially confirmed it.

Is Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Confirmed?
Yes. Infinity Castle Part 2 is the second instalment in the confirmed three-film project, and Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini said in May 2026 that the sequel was actively in production. However, Purini also acknowledged that a release date had not been decided. No official premiere date, release window, trailer, or subtitle for Part 2 has been announced as of October 10, 2026. The distinction matters because online reports have increasingly presented estimated dates as confirmed announcements.
Is Infinity Castle Part 2 Coming Out in 2027?
September 2027 is an unconfirmed estimate, not an official release date. The date gained attention after an untitled Sony Pictures release-calendar slot was associated with the movie. However, an unnamed calendar entry does not confirm which film will occupy that slot. Crunchyroll’s president has also indicated that its partners, Aniplex and ufotable, have not finalised the release dates. Until the production team or distributor announces a schedule, September 2027 should not be treated as the confirmed premiere. A 2028 release is also possible, but there is no official announcement establishing that year either.

What Will Infinity Castle Part 2 Cover?
Spoilers for the first Infinity Castle movie: The next film will continue the Demon Slayer Corps’ fight against Muzan and the Upper Rank demons inside the shifting Infinity Castle. The first movie focused on several major confrontations, including Tanjiro and Giyu Tomioka’s battle against Akaza, Shinobu Kocho’s encounter with Doma, and Zenitsu Agatsuma’s fight against Kaigaku.
The remaining manga material provides the source for the trilogy’s continuation, but the exact battles, stopping point, and pacing of Part 2 have not been officially revealed. Studio UFOTABLE is behind the film series, which is planned to conclude the anime’s central story through three theatrical releases.

When Will the Infinity Castle Part 2 Release Date Be Announced?
There is no confirmed announcement date. The first movie’s arrival on streaming platforms in 2026 has not established a release schedule for the sequel. Likewise, the production update confirms that work is underway, not that the movie is close to completion. For now, the confirmed position is straightforward: Infinity Castle Part 2 is in production, but its release date remains undecided. September 2027 is a reported possibility, not a date fans can rely on. Would you prefer ufotable to release Part 2 as soon as possible or take longer to deliver the same animation quality as the first film?
