Papara Park gets one of the biggest fixtures of the Turkish Super Lig season on Saturday as Trabzonspor welcomes league leaders Galatasaray. The visitors arrive with 13 points from five matches, while Trabzonspor have seven, but the hosts have already shown they can trouble the champions on their own ground. The match kicks off at 8 p.m. local time on Sept. 19, which is 10:30 p.m. IST.
The timing adds another layer to the contest. Trabzonspor appointed Thomas Reis as their new manager on Sept. 17 after parting ways with Fatih Tekke earlier this month, meaning the German will take charge for the first time in a match against the reigning league champions. Reis faces an immediate tactical challenge. Galatasaray are comfortable moving the ball through midfield before releasing their wide attackers, so Trabzonspor cannot simply press high with numbers. Their shape will need to remain compact once the first line of pressure is beaten.
