Gerd Müller (1945–2021), widely known as “Der Bomber” (The Bomber), was a German forward regarded as one of the most prolific penalty-box finishers in soccer history. Renowned for his explosive acceleration over short distances, sharp instincts, and ability to score from almost any angle or position inside the penalty box, he defined a generation for both Bayern Munich and West Germany.
