Gerd Müller ( 1945-2021) holds the record with an astonishing 0.85 goals-per-game ratio across 14 seasons, all with Bayern Munich. Widely known as “Der Bomber” (The Bomber), he was regarded as one of the most prolific penalty-box finishers in soccer history. Renowned for his explosive acceleration over short distances, sharp instincts, and ability to score from almost any angle or position inside the penalty box, he defined a generation for both Bayern Munich and West Germany.

Robert Lewandowski is the highest-scoring non-German player in Bundesliga history and the only other player besides Müller to cross the 300-goal mark. He also holds the single-season scoring record with 41 goals in 2020–21.

“Mr Bicycle Kick”: Klaus Fischer was famous for his acrobatic overhead kicks. His bicycle-kick goal for West Germany against Switzerland in November 1977 was voted Germany’s Goal of the Year, Goal of the Decade, and ultimately Goal of the Century.
