Arsenal secured an extremely important away win at Brighton to extend their lead to 7 points over Manchester City, and though the Gunners have played an extra game, they still have at least a 4 point buffer against the former Champions.
Bukayo Saka scored in the 9th minute and then Arsenal held on to secure a critical win at the American Express Stadium in Brighton and Hove. The Seagulls pressured the Arsenal goal, but were denied by a determined Arsenal defence.
Manchester City who had to win to keep up the pressure on Arsenal, hosted a beleaguered Nottingham Forest at the Etihad. City were favourites for sure, but the Tricky Trees displayed their famous fighting qualities to draw the game. City led twice in the contest, but Nottingham Forest came back each time to share the honours.
Antoine Semenyo has been a revelation at City and who knows, he might just be filling in Erling Haaland’s shoes for good, if the big Norwegian plans to make a move. Though injured at the moment, Haaland will be required in good measure as City prepare to wage a serious push for the title in the remaining 9 games.
Arsenal play Everton on 14th March, another tricky opponent, while City take on West Ham who are fighting to stay afloat off the relegation zone. The Gunners and City just cannot afford to lose points. A bit of a slip and title chances might just disappear, though certainly, Arsenal have their noses ahead.
