Do you or your family make any special dishes for the holidays?

The family dining together has been a very important part of our daily routine. My father always insisted that we should all have at least one meal ( preferably dinner ) together. Fortunately this practice is still being followed.

I don’t know how to cook at all, so be it a holiday or any other day my contribution towards the dish being prepared is zero. The ladies of the house have taken up this mantle.

On holidays, there may not be something special every time. However during festive occasions, some of the dishes are prepared with great enthusiasm. One of such dishes is the Qimami Seviyan (sweet vermicelli), which my mother has been preparing  for years. The process in its preparation is not an easy one, but my mother enjoys it, puts in her best and the result has been exquisite all these years.

My family and friends take out time exclusively to devour the Seviyan made by my mother.

A Culinary delight which has bound people for decades.
