What Is MURCIÉLAGO About?
The story centres on Kuroko Koumori, a former death-row inmate who receives an unusual opportunity to serve society. Instead of being executed, she is recruited through extraordinary legal measures to become a state-sanctioned executioner. Her assignment is straightforward in principle but disturbing in practice. When exceptionally dangerous criminals commit horrific acts, Kuroko is sent to eliminate them.
However, she is hardly a conventional law enforcement officer. Kuroko possesses extraordinary combat abilities and a deeply unpredictable personality, making her as unsettling as the criminals she hunts.
She works alongside Hinako Tozakura, her partner and supervisor, whose remarkable driving skills help the duo navigate dangerous situations. Together, they investigate serious crimes and confront violent offenders operating beyond the reach of ordinary justice. Their methods create a central tension throughout the premise. Kuroko is tasked with stopping evil, but her own history and questionable sense of morality blur the line between justice and vengeance.

What Does the New MURCIÉLAGO Trailer Reveal?
The latest teaser introduces Kuroko, Hinako, and Chiyo Yanaoka through character footage and brief action sequences. Kuroko appears as a scarred, gun-wielding antihero whose unsettling smile reflects her unpredictable nature. Hinako brings a contrasting energy to the partnership, with her driving abilities making her an essential part of their operations. Chiyo, meanwhile, is Kuroko’s girlfriend and the daughter of a yakuza family’s leader.
The teaser visual features all three characters against a cityscape that evokes both day and night. Its imagery captures the contrast between ordinary life and the violence surrounding the central characters. Rather than revealing a complete storyline, the footage establishes the anime’s tone through gunplay, character interactions, and flashes of dark humour.

Who Is Making the MURCIÉLAGO Anime?
Satelight and Staple Entertainment are jointly producing the animation. Takashi Naoya serves as chief director and oversees series composition, while Matsuo Asami directs the series. Kiyoshi Tateishi handles character designs, and Masanori Akita and Yuichi Tsuchiya are composing the music.
The three announced main cast members are Hitomi Ueda as Kuroko Koumori, Minori Suzuki as Hinako Tozakura, and Sumire Uesaka as Chiyo Yanaoka. The production team has indicated that the adaptation will preserve the manga’s stylish crime-action sequences alongside its more extreme elements.

Where Can You Watch MURCIÉLAGO in India?
HIDIVE has announced plans to stream MURCIÉLAGO in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. India is not included in the currently announced territories, so an Indian streaming platform has not been confirmed.
Content warning: The series contains graphic violence, disturbing crimes, sexual content, and grotesque imagery. It is intended for mature audiences rather than viewers looking for a conventional detective anime. With its unusual protagonist and morally complicated approach to crime fighting, MURCIÉLAGO could offer something different from the typical police investigation series. Will Kuroko’s extreme methods make her an effective weapon against dangerous criminals, or will her unpredictable nature become a threat of its own?
