The Latest On His Condition
Sky in Germany reports that his condition is stable. The collapse stems from a severe viral infection that he had been battling over the previous week. Kompany admitted that he pushed himself too hard and failed to listen to his body after returning to the touchline for recent matches against RB Leipzig and Arsenal.
The Club’s Response
Sporting director Max Eberl said the club’s priority is Kompany’s health. He said Kompany is expected to face an extended recovery period spanning “weeks, not days” while undergoing comprehensive medical examinations. He also assured that the Head Coach will have as much time as he needs, and that the coaching staff, in whom the club has complete confidence, will take over his duties. For now, the staff will manage all training and match-related operations.
