The Gunners Outsmarted
The Gunners were completely outsmarted and were denied any space on the pitch to launch a counter-offensive. Arsenal had not lost by a three goal difference since May 2023 and this loss must have hurt Mikel Arteta big time.
Brighton Untroubled
The Stats say it all. Arsenal, though, had a slight edge in terms of possession, they could hardly trouble Brighton. In the entire match, the Gunners had only one shot on goal.

Pascal Groß got the Seagulls underway in the 31st minute. The Greek teenager Charalampos Kostoulas added another on the stroke of halftime and then 21-year-old Spaniard Chema Andrés sealed off the tie in the 57th minute.
