Aston Villa Beat Tottenham
Aston Villa secured their first win of the 26/27 EPL season with a gritty 3-2 victory over a struggling Tottenham Hotspur at the Hotspur Stadium in West London, this evening.
The Spurs Lose But Score Their First Goals of the Season
The Spurs continued to grapple with another loss, pulling them down to the 18th position. However, the home team did show some fighting spirit and scored their first goals of the season through Connor Gallagher and van Hecke, to give some solace to the home fans, who began leaving the stadium in utter despair as the match progressed.

The Villans Were Clinical And The Result Was A Foregone Conclusion Despite the scoreline
The Villans scored at the stroke of halftime through 20-year-old Johan Manzambi, his first goal for Aston Villa and then assisted Nicolas Jackson in Villa’s second of the day in the second half. The visitors then added a crucial third goal in the 79th minute as Buendia scored for the Villans. The match was virtually over when Van Hecke got a consolation goal for the Spurs, making the loss look a bit respectable.
Tottenham’s Poor Midfield & Defence
The Tottenham defence was too porous and fragile and though the forwards pressed hard, dominated possession, looked like scoring on several occasions, the back line kept on conceding goals.
Zion Suzuki Was Incredible For Villa
Zion Suzuki, Aston Villa’s goalkeeper was simply outstanding, and gave an incredible performance in front of goal to deny the Spurs. But still Tottenham should not have allowed the goals from Villa. The midfield and the defence will have to take the blame. Pedro Porro, Andy Robertson and Kinsky in goal, could have done better.
An Uphill Battle For De Zerbi & Spurs
It is now an uphill for the Roberto De Zerbi and his team as they plummet into the relegation zone. They still have to record a win and will have lots of thinking to do as the International break comes in.
A Confidence Booster For Emery’s Aston Villa
For Aston Villa, it was a tremendous win away from home. Their victory against Coventry in the EFL Carabao Cup, a couple of days ago was indeed a confidence booster and the Unai Emery side will be going into the International break, a much happier side.
