Brentford ‘The Bees’
Since their winning debut in the Premier League against Arsenal, Brentford have been the team to watch. They may be a small club, but they have a large heart, are tenacious to the core, and have the ability to sting big time. They are known as ‘The Bees’ just for nothing, and Nottingham Forest, chasing an elusive Champions League Spot in the EPL, soon realised.
Brentford Double Strike Sinks Nottingham
Brentford scored on either side of half time through German Kevin Schade in the 44th minute and then the impressive Yoane Wissa closed out the game with a fine goal in the 70th minute. Both goals came through long balls and sublime finishes. The Nottingham defence was found wanting on both occasions.
The Tricky Trees Caught Off Guard Get Stung In Return
The Bees had stung the Tricky Trees. The concern on the face of Nuno, Nottingham’s Manager, was writ large as his team began to fall behind. Chris Wood and Elanga, who have been so good for the home team, struggled to make an impact, though Nottingham dominated possession.
Nottingham In A Tricky Position In The EPL Table
The 2-0 loss to Brentford, resulting in 3 losses in 5 games, has put Nottingham in a tricky position vis a vis the much sought after Champions League spot. The loss coupled with Manchester City’s victory against Wolves has pushed Nottingham to 6th place on the EPL table with 4 games to go for the Tricky Trees.
Nottingham The Flavour Of The Season Need To Close Out Well
Loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup Semis would have surely dampened Nottingham’s spirits. Nuno has to play a big role here like an experienced shepherd guiding his flock through rough terrain. Without doubt Nottingham Forest have been the toast of this season’s EPL and a place in the Champions League next season would be a perfect tribute to the belligerent football they have displayed.
Brentford And Another Good EPL Season
Brentford, on the other hand, are on the verge of another successful EPL campaign. They have looked good and will continue to impress going forward. They should aim and are capable of a top 5 finish next year.
