Pep’s City Face Nottingham Forest Tonight
It has been 7 matches without a win for Europe’s most feared club in recent times. 6 losses and a draw and caught up in a downward spiral. The Manager with the Midas touch, a legend already, Pep Guardiola, had never had it so bad. With Nottingham Forest slated to arrive at the Etihad Stadium tonight in Manchester for an interesting EPL duel, the focus will be on Pep Guardiola.
A Team Caught In A Punishing Downward Spiral
Once you get in the habit of winning, you are confident of finding ways and means of ensuring the continuity of the trend. City and Guardiola ensured this trend for a good half a decade. An incredible achievement. Therefore the downward spiral which City has got themselves into appears incredible too. Getting out of it will take some getting and is going to test the character of each and every City player and of course, Pep Guardiola.
Nottingham Forest Are Tricky Opponents
Nottingham Forest are not easy opponents. They are a tricky lot and have been playing at an amazing level this season. Very capable of causing an upset. City will be required to play out of their skins to beat Forest, who are in a good frame of mind having won their last encounter against Ipswich Town.

Guardiola & Complicated Issues…
With Erling Haaland not looking in great form along with Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, City are in some serious strife. The return of Gundogan has also failed to add that elusive spark in the midfield and with De Bruyne reported to be injured, has further complicated issues for Guardiola. With Ederson benched for Ortega (who did not have a great game against Liverpool) in front of Goal, things do not appear great for City. Losing Rodri has weakened the team in defence. Josko Gvardiol looks good to me but then the rest have not been good enough.
…Need To Be Addressed
Guardiola therefore has been struggling with a misfiring forward line, a subdued midfield and a porous defence. All these areas have to be addressed if City need to reverse the distasteful trend they have got themselves into.
A Big Night Awaits
A big night awaits the Champions. Another loss would put immense pressure on Guardiola, a Manager par excellence who has given unprecedented laurels to Manchester City. How cruel a sport can be. We shall find out tonight.
