Kiwis Win After 36 Years
New Zealand recorded their first Test Match victory against India after a gap of 36 years. This shows how difficult it has been for the Kiwis to register a test match win in India. Rachin Ravindra’s knock of 134 runs and a crucial 137-run 8th-wicket partnership with Tim Southee were defining moments in the match. The brilliant southpaw, with his roots in Bengaluru, not only displayed his extraordinary batsmanship but also exhibited a great temperament.
Defensive & Audacious
He defended stoically, absorbed great pressure, and then unleashed a blistering attack on the Indian bowling. He struck all around the ground both with exquisite timing and immense power. His use of the crease was exceptional as he went about piling the runs when wickets tumbled around him. He was both defensive and audacious at the same time, and remained completely unruffled at the big stage.

Rachin: A Special Player
His performance pulled New Zealand much ahead of India and despite India’s batting heroics in the second innings, New Zealand won on a canter with Rachin again playing a crucial cameo in the second innings to take New Zealand home. Such self assurance and belief at such young an age, makes Rachin Ravindra a special player.
A true Gem indeed.
