Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly part of a consortium preparing a bid for control of Al Nassr. Here’s what the proposed ownership move could mean.
Cristiano Ronaldo could soon become more than Al Nassr’s captain and leading scorer. The 41-year-old is reportedly part of a five-investor consortium preparing a bid to acquire control of the Saudi club, potentially giving him an ownership role at the team where he has built the latest chapter of his career. According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Ronaldo has joined forces with Gerry Cardinale, owner of AC Milan, and three Saudi businessmen to negotiate a possible acquisition from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The reports say the consortium is preparing an offer, but no agreement has been completed.

Why Is Cristiano Ronaldo Looking to Invest in Al Nassr?
Ronaldo’s relationship with Al Nassr has already extended well beyond his role on the pitch. Since joining the club in late 2022, he has become the face of its project and one of the biggest stars in Saudi football. He also helped Al Nassr win the Saudi Pro League title in the 2025/26 season. An ownership stake would give him a financial and strategic connection to the club beyond his playing career.
Reports from Portuguese media have also claimed that Ronaldo already holds around 5% of Al Nassr. That figure has not been officially confirmed by the club, so it should be treated as a reported detail rather than an established ownership figure.
Who Is Joining Cristiano Ronaldo in the Proposed Deal?
The reported consortium consists of five investors. Alongside Ronaldo and Cardinale are Saudi businessmen Ibrahim Al Muhaidib, Mohammed Al Khuraiji, and Sharaf Al Hariri. Reports have suggested that each investor could contribute around $100 million, although the final value and structure of any transaction have not been officially confirmed.
The proposal is aimed at acquiring control of Al Nassr from the PIF, which currently owns 75% of the club, according to reports. Representatives linked to the consortium are expected to discuss the proposal with the fund.

Could Cristiano Ronaldo Become an Al Nassr Owner?
That will depend on whether the reported proposal develops into an agreement with the PIF. For now, Ronaldo remains an Al Nassr player while discussions surrounding a potential ownership role continue. The reported move would nevertheless add another dimension to his growing involvement in the football business.
Ronaldo already owns a 25% stake in Spanish club Almeria, according to reports, meaning an investment in Al Nassr would further expand his interests away from the pitch. For a player approaching the final stage of his career, the possibility of becoming part of Al Nassr’s ownership could represent a significant transition from football superstar to football investor.
