Emirates : They have done it…Again

When it comes to creativity the human mind is limitless and when the resolve is unshakeable, ways and means to fulfill the creative urge are found and then something extraordinary is born. I have never travelled with Emirates and I do not have a hands on experience of their service, but yes they are considered to be one of the best airlines in the world. However as far as I am concerned I have great admiration for their creativity in their ads and the awe inspiring element of surprise which they carry.

On the 16th of September 2021, I wrote about the amazing, jaw dropping Emirates Advertisement wherein, Nicole Smith- Ludvik, a professional sky diving instructor, is seen standing atop the Burj Khalifa with placards in hand, promoting Emirates and the Dubai Expo 2020. The ad had caught peoples attention  across the world and had created a huge amount of buzz on the internet.

Now, Emirates have shot another Ad and this time they have taken the element of surprise a notch higher. Alongwith Nicole Smith, there is another actor in the Ad, the  largest passenger  plane, the giant of an aircraft, the Airbus A-380. Emirates have the  largest  fleet of A-380s in the world and they thought it  best to have their star performer on board.

Atop the Burj

The Ad initially looks similar to the one shot earlier with Nicole Smith standing firm  on top of the  Burj, however as she is moving the placards and displaying the messages to the world, a brightly coloured Emirates A- 380, with Dubai Expo 2020 inscribed on it, passes closely behind Nicole at the same height of the Burj Khalifa. The shot is incredible, leading to another astounding experience with a definite twist. A real crowd puller.

The Ad was meticulously planned again. The giant of a plane flew around the Burj Khalifa 11 times to get the perfect shot they wanted. A smiling Nicole Smith stood on the pinnacle of the Burj with exemplary courage as if totally oblivious of the big A- 380 so close to her. Her poise at the top is simply baffling. She looks straight into the camera and with consumate ease changes the placards. The A-380 flying at a considerable low speed and height was in itself a challenge, however the pilots pulled it off with remarkable precision. After passing the Burj, the plane takes a round of Dubai and exits from over the beautiful Al Wasl Plaza.

There is nothing which cannot be achieved if one sets out to do it with self belief, determination and meticulous planning. This is precisely how the Emirates’ Team have managed to showcase the series of remarkable ads atop the Burj, with the last one being one better.

So create  better & Fly  better … with Emirates. Certainly on top of the World.

  1. A befitting short write-up on the amazing Ad from one of the world’s best Airlines !
In fact when I first saw it, I thought it was a camera trick; but no Rizwan’s blog has blown away this myth and what I saw in the Ad was indeed an ingenious publicity projection of the Airlines.
