A world that faces potential destruction every 300 hours needs more than an ordinary hero. It needs powerful mages willing to confront threats capable of ending civilisation. That is the premise behind King’s Proposal, the upcoming fantasy romance anime based on the light novels by Koushi Tachibana and illustrator Tsunako, the creative duo behind Date A Live.
The adaptation received a new teaser visual and confirmed its 2027 television premiere on October 25, 2026. The announcement also revealed that Rie Takahashi will voice the powerful mage Saika Kuozaki.

What Is King’s Proposal About?
The story takes place in a world where catastrophic threats known as annihilation factors repeatedly endanger humanity. These entities can destroy the world, and powerful mages work behind the scenes to eliminate them before civilisation collapses. Saika Kuozaki stands at the top of this magical hierarchy. She is the head of an academy attended by mages and one of the few individuals capable of confronting these extraordinary threats.
Her life changes when she encounters Mushiki Kuga, an ordinary high school student who becomes entangled in her destiny. After Saika suffers a mortal injury, she passes her powers and body to Mushiki. Although he inherits extraordinary abilities, he lacks the experience and control needed to use them effectively.
Mushiki must therefore attend a magical academy while living as Saika and concealing his real identity. His task is complicated by the need to control powers he barely understands while facing threats that could destroy the world. The situation creates opportunities for both supernatural battles and romantic tension. The series combines the familiar setting of a school for mages with a central mystery surrounding identity, responsibility, and the relationship between its main characters.

What Does the New Teaser Visual Reveal?
The October announcement introduced a visual centred on Saika Kuozaki. Its presentation emphasises her position as an exceptionally powerful mage and establishes the fantasy atmosphere of the adaptation. However, the promotional material does not reveal a full trailer or detailed episode information. Fans should not assume that the visual confirms specific scenes, story arcs, or additional characters. The absence of a complete production announcement also means viewers do not yet know which animation studio will handle the series or who will direct it.

Who Created King’s Proposal?
The original light novel series is written by Koushi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako. The books have been published under Kadokawa’s Fantasia Bunko imprint since September 2021. The creators are already familiar to many fantasy anime fans through Date A Live, another light novel franchise that combines supernatural conflict, school life, and romantic relationships.
Their involvement gives King’s Proposal a recognisable creative foundation, although the anime’s eventual visual style and adaptation approach will depend on the production team still to be announced.
Where Can You Watch King’s Proposal?
No streaming platform has been officially confirmed for the anime in India.
