Benjamin Satterley (PAC) Cause of Death: What We Know So Far After Tragic Loss

Where PAC Was Found

New information has come out about the death of Benjamin Satterley, the wrestler known as PAC and formerly Neville in WWE. He was 40 years old. According to reports, Satterley was found passed out in a vehicle in the parking lot of a CAVA restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois. The discovery was made around 4 p.m. on Sunday. He was pronounced dead at 4:08 p.m.

Emergency Response

When a medical dispatch team arrived at the restaurant, they could not confirm if he was breathing. Audio from the dispatch call described the situation as a “slumper” in a car. Authorities said they were still on the phone gathering more information. Witnesses at the CAVA called 911 after noticing he was unconscious. They looked for medical equipment to help him until medics arrived. One witness said there was an ambulance, police, and a fire truck outside.

Police Rule Out Foul Play

A spokesperson for the Des Plaines Police Department said there were no indications of foul play. The circumstances around the death are not considered suspicious. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said a cause of death is pending additional testing after an initial autopsy.

Possible Travel Plans

The CAVA restaurant is located near Chicago O’Hare International Airport. This suggests PAC may have been preparing for a flight later that evening. He and other wrestlers had competed the previous night at AEW’s All Out pay-per-view. That event took place at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

AEW Announces Tribute Show

AEW will honour PAC during Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. CEO Tony Khan announced the tribute. A 10-bell salute was held in his honour during an ROH taping. Khan said he had never met a person who was more beloved by his peers and friends. He said it was a pleasure to spend time with Ben outside of wrestling, whether having dinner, watching football, or travelling. 

Khan called him a first-class person who left behind a lovely wife, many great friends, and a legacy that will last forever. The tribute show will be held at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh. That is the same venue where PAC wrestled in the main event of the fourth-ever episode of Dynamite in 2019 against Jon Moxley. Khan said PAC was someone he knew would be a big part of the company and also became a big part of his life outside wrestling.
