Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic First Round: Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno Defeat Los Americanos
The 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic kicked off on WWE NXT. In the first-round match, Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno faced Los Americanos. The match was fast-paced and competitive. Los Americanos used their power to control parts of the match, including a double Airplane Spin from Bravo Americano.
Rayo also hit several double stomps and a superkick. However, Dar and Moreno stayed alive. Moreno hit a Death Valley Driver on Bravo off the middle rope. Dar then tagged in and finished Bravo with a Russian Leg Sweep and forearm combination. Dar and Moreno advanced to the next round.
Kali Armstrong vs. Skylar Raye
Kali Armstrong took on Skylar Raye in singles action. Armstrong used her power early, hitting shoulders and a powerslam. Raye fought back with arm drags and a crossbody attempt. Armstrong caught her and delivered a Fallaway Slam, then wore her down with a submission hold. Raye escaped and hit a Frog Splash from the top rope, but Armstrong kicked out.
Armstrong hit a spinning slam and a spinebuster. She set up for the Kali Connection, but Raye ducked. Armstrong accidentally hit the referee. Then Reina Volcan appeared out of nowhere and attacked both women. Volcan hit a powerslam on Armstrong and an F5 on Raye. Raye’s arm fell on top of Armstrong, and when the referee recovered, he counted the pin. Raye won the match.
Kelani Jordan and Zaria vs. La Catalina and Thea Hail
WWE NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan teamed with Zaria to face AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina and Thea Hail. The match broke down into a physical fight between all four women. Hail used a sleeper on Zaria. Catalina hit a missile dropkick from the top rope and Hip Attacks on both opponents. Zaria set up for an F5 on Hail, but Hail rolled her up for the win. Catalina and Hail picked up the victory. The rivalry between these four women continues to grow.
Cruz Montana and Dion Lennox Brawl
Cruz Montana came to the ring and said he has not been losing. He said learning happens in losses, and recent events have only added fuel to his fire. He put Grayson Waller and Mason Rook on notice. DarkState appeared in the crowd. Dion Lennox told Montana to worry about what was in front of him. Montana told Lennox to be quiet and said Lennox talks tough only when the rest of DarkState is with him. Montana dared Lennox to step up. Lennox said WWE came knocking on his door through Instagram. The two brawled to the back.
Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic First Round: The Creed Brothers Defeat Harley Higgins and Jax Presley
The Creed Brothers faced Harley Higgins and Jax Presley in a first-round match. Julius Creed sent Riggins into the ring post early. Brutus Creed tagged in and hit a Brutus Smash on Presley. Julius used Presley as a launching pad to send Riggins off the apron. Riggins fought back with clotheslines and kicks. He hit a moonsault on Julius, but Brutus broke the pin with a senton. The Creed Brothers then hit a double chokeslam on Presley. Brutus pinned him for the win. The Creed Brothers advanced in the tournament.
BirthRight Defeats Zilla Fatu, EK Prosper, and Sean Legacy
Zilla Fatu, EK Prosper, and Sean Legacy faced BirthRight, who were accompanied by Arianna Grace. Dorian Van Dux was at ringside with his team. The match was chaotic. Zilla hit bodyslams on Lexis King and sent him over the top rope. Prosper, Legacy, and Zilla hit triple tope con hilos on BirthRight outside the ring. Prosper tagged himself in, which caused confusion. Arianna Grace distracted the referee. Legacy hit double knees on King, but King rolled up Legacy for the win. BirthRight won the match.
Grayson Waller and Mason Rook Face Off
WWE NXT Champion Grayson Waller came to the ring, and number one contender Mason Rook followed. Waller said he wanted to defend his title against the best and admitted Rook is the best. He said his championship means too much to take Rook lightly. He also said guys like Rook are lazy and complacent. Waller handed Rook the microphone and told him he was wrong.
Rook said he is not an idiot and knows Waller is trying to provoke him. He said there might be a reason Waller is back in WWE NXT, like he did not fit The Vision on the main roster. Rook said he is not playing Waller’s game because Waller will not play his. He asked Waller what will happen when the bell rings and Waller has no microphone to hide behind. Rook said Waller is great at running his mouth, but when his hands are around Waller’s neck, Waller will realise he is in over his head. The two stared each other down as the show went off the air.
