Kylian Mbappe Is On to On From Nike
Kylian Mbappé has officially ended his nearly 20-year association with Nike to join Swiss sportswear brand On in a landmark 10-year deal that includes cash compensation and an equity stake in the company.
Similar to Roger Federer
Unlike traditional endorsement deals, Mbappé’s agreement with Zurich-based On operates as an equity-based partnership modeled after Roger Federer’s 2019 investment.

Creation & Design Input:
Mbappé becomes a global ambassador, shareholder, and co-creator for On, directly collaborating with product teams to design and test future footwear and apparel. He would act as a co-creator, providing direct feedback for boot performance, fit, and aesthetic choices alongside On’s Zurich-based innovation lab.
On’s Expansion into Football
This move marks On’s official entry into football boots and kit production. The brand has also appointed French legend Thierry Henry as its Director of Football to shape its strategy and product line.

Boot Innovations
Mbappé is currently testing prototype boots featuring On’s LightSpray™ technology, a seamless, robotically-sprayed upper, manufactured with a significantly lower carbon footprint. Prototype boots will appear on pitch during upcoming Real Madrid matches, with commercial retail availability slated for 2027.
Impact on Nike
Following the loss of Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal to Adidas, the loss of Kylian Mbappe to On has certainly hit Nike hard. The iconic Sports brand has a big challenge up its sleeve to counter two major setbacks. surrenders another top marketing icon to a challenger brand.
