Struggling Al-Taawoun

The 2026 Season has not begun well for the Wolves from Al Qassim, in complete contrast to what Al-Taawoun had achieved last season. The club from Buraidah, which stood 6th on the leaderboard in the Saudi Pro League in 25/26, is yet to win a game in 6 matches in 26/27.

Winless Wolves Host Al-Hilal Tonight

With zero wins, 3 draws and 3 losses, Al-Taawoun will host the Blue Waves Al-Hilal tonight at the Al-Taawoun Stadium in a critical match for the Wolves, before the League takes a break for International commitments and the AFC Champions League.

Al-Hilal Lost To NEOM But Are Still Dangerous

Al-Hilal, on the other hand, with 5 wins out of 6, are looking good with a strong squad boasting some major signings in Ollie Watkins and Gabriel Martinelli. Though recently their 47-game unbeaten streak was broken by NEOM, the Blues under Simone Inzaghi are a complete side and a very dangerous one at that.

The Riyadh Club Has Scored The Most This Season

The Riyadh Club has scored 17 goals so far in 6 matches and is placed 3rd on the Saudi Pro League leaderboard. No wonder the Blue Waves will be very tough for Al-Taawoun to manoeuvre, even while playing on their home turf.

The Wolves Have Forgotten To Bite

Al-Taawoun, the Wolves as they are famously known, have just forgotten to bite, with just 3 goals to show for the efforts in 6 games. The offence is clearly lacking, while the defence too has conceded 6 times, resulting in 3 draws and 3 losses. Struggling in the 14th position, facing Al-Hilal is going to be a big task for Serbian Manager Zarko Lazetic.

A Stale Squad Is Hurting Al-Taawoun

The Buraidah-based club, not backed by the PIF yet, was unable to spruce up its squad, particularly a top-class striker who could have served them well this season. Al-Taawoun ‘s struggle may continue as other teams strengthen their squads to stay relevant in the tough top tier of Saudi Football.
