Cody Rhodes and Pharaoh

Cody Rhodes has shared the sad news that his beloved dog Pharaoh has passed away. Rhodes announced the news on Instagram on Tuesday. He described it as Pharaoh going to forever sleep. Pharaoh was more than just a dog to Rhodes. He was a beloved member of the Rhodes family and also became a familiar face in the pro wrestling world.

Pharaoh was a furry white husky. He made several public appearances alongside Cody Rhodes. He was part of Rhodes’ entrance at AEW All Out 2019. After Rhodes returned to WWE in 2022, Pharaoh appeared in a backstage segment on Monday Night Raw. He also had an action figure made by Mattel. The Rock even referenced Pharaoh in a promo ahead of WrestleMania 40.

Rhodes shared many memories of Pharaoh in his Instagram post. He said Pharaoh howled at the moon and patrolled the pool. He would tear up plants when a stranger came into the backyard. Rhodes described him as a crisis dog. Whenever there was a crisis, Pharaoh was there. Rhodes recalled how Pharaoh would put his nose under his arm in the truck. When Rhodes’ world was turned upside down, Pharaoh sat outside with him and pressed his head against him. Rhodes said Pharaoh understood. He called him a good boy and his best man.

Rhodes also remembered Pharaoh walking through a crowd at the 2018 Starrcast convention. Fans respectfully stepped aside and cheered. Rhodes said Pharaoh’s true job was being present for his first daughter, Liberty. He said he was perhaps protecting her. Rhodes ended his message by saying they love Pharaoh.

The post included cherished photos of Pharaoh and the Rhodes family. The last photo was in black and white. It showed Cody Rhodes petting a happy Pharaoh. The Undisputed WWE Championship belt was sitting nearby in the photo.
