Salah Will Fight His Battles In Trabzon
Mo Salah, the Egyptian King, is going to fight his battles in the City of Trabzon, in North-Eastern Turkiye. Leaving Liverpool after 9 years, at the conclusion of his contract, Mo Salah, as a free agent, penned his interest with Trabzonspor, one of the most decorated Turkish Clubs.
A Major Surprise
The selection of Trabzonspor was a major surprise, though, as several Saudi Clubs had been showing interest for a couple of years to sign Salah. Besiktas in Istanbul too had come close to signing Salah, but Trabzonspor opened their coffers for the Egyptian and sealed the deal.
A Two-Year Contract and €17m per year
The 34-year-old, Mo Salah, landed in Istanbul wearing the Trabzonspor sky blue and claret jersey a couple of days ago to sign a two-year contract ( with the option of a third) reportedly for €17m a year plus bonuses. The seven-time Turkish champions—who finished third in the Super Lig last season—look to leverage Salah’s star power both commercially and on the pitch.

Salah made Liverpool his home and, without an iota of doubt, played his best football at the English Club. He grew into a legend, becoming the third-highest goal scorer in the history of the club with 257 goals during his tenure at Liverpool. The Egyptian’s contributions were immense, helping his team to two Premier League Titles, a UEFA Champions League Trophy, one FA Cup, 2 EFL titles, and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.

The Magician from Egypt won the Premier League Golden Boot Award on 4 occasions and thrice was adjudged PFA’s Player of the Year. Salah was one of the most decorated players of the English Premier League in no uncertain terms.
Salah Will Power Trabzonspor in Jersey 61
Mo Salah will now look to power Trabzonspor past the elite Istanbul trio of Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig. He will wear the no. 61, representing the city code of Trabzon, and will carry the hopes of the fans and community backing Trabzonspor.
