Al-Nassr Have to beat Damac
Al-Nassr are two points above Al-Hilal as the final day of the Roshn Saudi League approaches on Thursday. Al-Nassr have to beat Damac to win the Saudi League, which will be Al-Nassr’s first trophy since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo four years ago.
Al-Hilal Too Can’t Lose or Play out a Draw
Al-Hilal cannot lose or draw against Al-Fayha. Either result will help Al-Nassr clinch the League irrespective of what happens in the Al-Nassr-Damac match.
Al-Nassr Steel Reeling under the Bento Howler
The Knights of Najd in the AFC Champions League 2 Final against Gamba Osaka appeared to be still reeling under the last-second Bento howler against Al-Hilal, which denied Al-Nassr the League title on that day. It was an unbelievable error, which sank Al-Nassr’s hearts. Against Gamba Osaka, the Yellow brigade looked quite at sea, and defying the law of averages, lost another opportunity to win a trophy with Ronaldo.
Damac Too Must Win to Survive in the RSL
Damac too are in a must-win situation to escape relegation. They are two points ahead of Al-Riyadh. If Damac lose and Al-Riyadh beat Al-Akhdoud, Damac will be relegated. No wonder Damac, in their previous game against Al-Fayha, produced an excellent performance, winning 3-0 and will be giving their best against a nervy, jittery Al-Nassr.
A Superlative Performance is required from Ronaldo and his team.
Manager Jorge Jesus has a great quality side. He just needs to inject in them some unwavering intent to counter the Damac threat. Ronaldo, Mane, Joao Felix, Kingsley Coman, and of course, Bento will have to give everything on the pitch to secure the title. If this doesn’t happen, it will be the greatest opportunity gone abegging.
Al-Nassr, however, have the Edge
Al-Nassr, however, have a clear advantage over Damac, having won all of their last five meetings. In the RSL, Al-Nassr beat Damac 2-1 on the 21st of January in their latest meeting. Al-Nassr definitely have the edge, and with the game being played at the Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, thousands of crazy and vociferous fans would be backing their team to win the title.
Can Ronaldo Break the Jinx
What a day coming up for Cristiano Ronaldo. He will be tested yet again. Can he inspire his team to the title? Can he turn the law of averages to his side?, and can he break the ‘no trophy’ jinx?
