City’s Second Trip To Wembley
Manchester City are making their second trip to Wembley this season after their participation and successful elevation to EFL Cup Champions on the 22nd of March. Arsenal were at the receiving end that night, when City beat the Gunners 2-0 to win the Cup and their first silverware of the season. Nick O’Reilly’s brace that night will be remembered for a long time to come.
The 145th FA Cup Final
Come the 16th of May, Manchester City will be at Wembley to take on Chelsea in the FA Cup ( the oldest football competition in the world) Final. It will be the 145th FA Cup Final, but quite surprisingly the first between Man City and Chelsea.
Manchester City In Sublime Form…
City in sublime form are the favourites by far to win this and annex their second trophy of the season. The team has been playing beautifully, to say the least, and with Jeremy Doku in an incredibly sensational phase of striking, the signs look ominous for a beleaguered Chelsea.
… Are A Formidable Unit
Phil Foden too looked brilliant in the match against Crystal Palace, along with Antoine Semenyo and Omar Marmoush. Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki are expected to be back for the final, making Manchester City a seriously formidable unit.
An Opportunity For Chelsea To Redeem Themselves
Chelsea, without a win in their last 5 EPL games, including 4 losses, are struggling, with European qualification looking significantly compromised. The FA Cup final will be a terrific opportunity for the Blues to redeem themselves in a season which has gone from bad to worse.
Pep Guardiola Gunning For The Cup
With the EPL title drifting away ever so slightly, Pep Guardiola would be gunning to win the FA Cup.
All eyes on Wembley.
