Manchester City Win Comfortably Against Crystal Palace
Manchester City secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium last night, with Pep Guardiola resting his key players, including Erling Haaland, who remained on the bench for the entire match.
Semenyo, Marmoush, Savio Score for City
Outstanding goals from Antoine Semenyo, Omar Marmoush and Savio ensured City had no hiccups going through. It was indeed a sublime performance, with City moving brilliantly on the pitch, with pace, intent and strategy.
Phil Foden Was Inspirational With His Assists
Phil Foden didn’t score, but assisted in two of the goals. A back heel pass to Semenyo was an incredible piece of work, which set up Semenyo perfectly. In the case of Marmoush’s goal, too, Foden had his say, though the Egyptian maintained his composure and balance to drill down City’s second goal.
An off-colours Crystal Palace Put in A Subdued Performance
Crystal Palace were totally at sea and lacked the firepower to get past the City defence. Strand Larsen had a couple of chances in the second half, but Donnarumma was up to it and denied Palace every time.
City Reduce The Deficit To Just 2 Points Behind Arsenal
City were not stretched at all and were cool winners in the end, reducing the deficit to just 2 points, behind Arsenal, with a fractionally better goal difference. The Everton game, which resulted in a 3-3 draw, may hurt City going forward.
Arsenal In the Driver’s Seat With Relatively Easier Matches
Arsenal play the already relegated Burnley next and will take on Crystal Palace in the final match of the EPL season. With due respect to Burnley and Palace, the two matches may be relatively easier than Manchester City’s matches against Bournemouth and Aston Villa next.
The Title Race Is Going Down To The Wire
It is Arsenal’s title to lose now, and with City close behind, anything can happen. A nerve-wracking finish is expected as the Title race is going down to the wire.
