An Incredible Contest

It was one of the most incredible matches in the MLS this season so far. Inter Miami played host to Orlando City in a sellout Florida Derby last night.

Inter Miami Were All Over Orlando In The First Half, But Crépeau Held Sway

Inter Miami, led by Lionel Messi, were all over Orlando in the first half and had it not been for some sensational goalkeeping from Canadian Maxime Crépeau, Miami would have easily scored 5 or 6.

Miami Score Three As Messi Strikes A Screamer

The match, however, was totally in Miami’s grasp as they pumped in three goals in quick time, with Messi scoring a screamer with his magical left foot from a Luis Suarez pass. The legend also made a fine assist in securing Miami’s second goal. By the 33rd minute, Miami were already ahead 3-0, and it was a foregone conclusion as to who was winning the contest.

Martin Ojeda Leads Orlando’s Fightback

Orlando City, however, were not done yet and were prepared for a fight. Martin Ojeda from Argentina got one back for Orlando with a superb left-footer. The stinger gave St. Claire, Miami’s goalkeeper, no chance, and at halftime it was 3-1 in favour of Miami.

Orlando Gain Ascendancy As Miami Begin To Slip

Orlando City got some momentum going in the second half as the Miami defence, appearing overconfident, began to slip and presented another opportunity to Ojeda, who once again punished Miami with another brilliant strike from his left foot. It was 3-2 in the 68th minute.

Ojeda Scores A Hat Trick

Orlando City began to believe, as Miami’s defence began to crumble. The visitors were all over the hosts and in the milee, City got a penalty, which Ojeda converted without a fuss. It was a tremendous hat trick from the South American, and the match was locked at 3-3, with about 11 minutes to go.

Spicer Buries The Winner, As Miami Crumble

The Miami defence was in shambles, really, with players completely out of position and unable to thwart the moves of the opposition. Orlando City were on top, and the improbable happened in stoppage time. Tyrese Spicer was set up brilliantly and he made no mistake as he drilled the ball into the Miami net.

A Match For The Ages

Orlando City had made an incredible comeback to stun Inter Miami 4-3 after being three goals down. The match will go down as one of the best in MLS history.

Ojeda & Crépeau Make It Happen

All praise to Ojeda, who was sensational with his hat trick and not to forget Maxime Crépeau’s stupendous saves to deny Miami.

What a game!
