Lens Were Running PSG Close But Slipped To Lorient
On the 14th of March, RC Lens lost to Lorient at the Stade du Mustoir. Lens were running PSG close and had a great chance of toppling the French Ligue 1 Champions. Even PSG at that time were looking a bit vulnerable. But that loss against Lorient pegged Lens back.
Can Lorient Do Lens A Favour?
As Lens and PSG play their 31st game of the Ligue, the Parisians have a healthy 6-point lead over the Racing Club from Lens. With Lorient due to play PSG at the Parc des Princes in an hour from now, Lens would be hoping that Lorient would do them a favour and shock PSG tonight.
PSG May Rest Regulars Tonight Is Lorient’s Only Chance
With the second leg of the Champions League semi-final due in the next few days, PSG might be tempted to field a slightly weaker side, and with Achraf Halimi already sidelined due to injury, Luis Enrique might ring in the changes. Lens just messed it up for their own good with a big loss to Lille in the first week of April, and then played out an amazing, hard-fought draw against Brest last Saturday. It was an incredible comeback from Lens after being three goals down to secure a point and stay in the hunt for the Ligue 1 title. However, the race is no longer in their hands unless PSG flounder in the end.
Lens also need to beat Nice Tonight
Lens too have to get past Nice tonight at the Allianz Riviera, which in itself will be a tough bridge to cross.
