The Boys in Gold of Nashville are Shining
The Boys in Gold are putting up a terrific show in the MLS Eastern Conference this season. In the 9 games played so far, Nashville have won 7, lost one and drawn one and are at the top of the Eastern Conference with 22 points, leading Inter Miami by two points with a game in hand.
The Snakes of Philadelphia Are Next For Nashville
Nashville will be travelling to Philadelphia to take on the Snakes at the Subaru Park in Chester later tonight. A win will extend Nashville’s lead to 5 points over Inter Miami and will further strengthen their season going forward.
BJ Callaghan Has Turned The Tide
In the 2025 season, Nashville finished 6th in the Eastern Conference and 11th overall, but this season, the side has turned the tide. A lot of credit for this transition has to be given to Manager BJ Callaghan, who has transformed the Nashville side from the ‘ sit back ‘ approach to an offensive one.
Nashville’s Vastly Improved Forward Line and Midfield
Callaghan has helped distribute the load of scoring, lying heavily on Hany Mukhtar’s shoulders, to England’s Surridge and Costa Rican Madrigal. Espinoza on the right flank has been excellent, and his assists have been a major boost for Nashville. The performance of Ahmed Qasem on the left flank has been incredible, too. The Swede, with his pace and ability to score, has added the much-needed spark to Nashville.
The Defence Too Has Improved
With the front and midfield secured, the defence too appears tough to beat. Ghanaian Maxwell Woledzi in the centre back role is a mighty wall to crack, and young Brian Schwake in goal has been nothing short of a revelation.
The Positive Impact is Showing in the Numbers
No wonder, Nashville have scored 21 goals in 9 games ( the highest so far in the Eastern Conference) and have conceded just 6 goals, which is the lowest in the MLS Eastern Conference. The Boys in Gold, therefore, have the best goal difference in the competition.
Nashville Are Favourites Against Philadelphia
Nashville will start as favourites against a struggling Philadelphia side, who have won just a single game in 10 matches, losing a staggering 7 and drawing 2, pushing them right at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
The way the Coyotes are playing, it could well be their season.
