It has been an extremely uncharacteristic season for Wolverhampton Wanderers. Famously known as the Wolves, the once feisty competitors have never been seen so timid and toothless. No wonder the Wolves are in serious danger of being dumped out of the EPL.
In the 12 matches so far played out this season in the Premier League, the Wolves have lost 10 and have drawn 2 and have therefore collected just 2 points from 12 games and are without a victory so far. Right at the bottom of the table, Wolves will be travelling to Villa Park to meet Aston Villa tomorrow, in an attempt to resurrect their campaign. But the Villans are in fine form and have one of the finest records at home grounds.
Aston Villa and Wolves, after 5 games, were very much together in the relegation zone. The Wolves, though, have further entrenched their position at the bottom; the Villans have been on a brilliant run, winning 6 out of their last 7 games. At home, their record in the last 30 games has been nothing short of phenomenal, wherein they have lost just 1 game.
The Wolves, therefore, have their hands full. A team which once had an impermeable defence have already conceded 27 goals in 12 games and has been able to score just 7 in that period. With the new Manager, Rob Edwards, ushered in to save the season, it still looks bleak for Wolves, unless and until they begin living their name.
An Aston Villa victory certainly looks on the cards.
C’mon Wolves… show some fangs!!
