A determined Al-Nassr under new manager Jorge Jesus and a belligerent strike force of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Joao Felix and Kingsley Coman, have been rampant, and appear the best team by far in the new season of the Roshn Saudi League.
The statistics are not only impressive but hugely dominant. The Al-Alami have won all their 5 games in the RSL so far with an audacious display of top class football, scoring 19 goals and conceding just 2 in the process.
Last night was no different. The Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, home to Al-Nassr, witnessed a treat from its team, a 5-1 victory. Al-Fateh, the visitors from Al-Ahsa, were all at sea against the hosts. Joao Felix, slowly turning into Al-Nassr’s new talisman broke the status quo with a superb strike from the edge of the box. It was quality written all over the effort from Felix.
The second half completely belonged to Al-Nassr. Cristiano Ronaldo, arguably the greatest striker of all times doubled the score with a ripper. Felix added two more and then the Frenchman Kingsley Coman got into the act with a fine goal of his own. Al-Nassr could have added a few more had Sadio Mane and Ronaldo converted easy chances right at the start of the game.
Such was the quality of play from Al-Nassr that Al-Fateh had no chance in the match. The guests were completely annihilated by a rampaging Al-Nassr.
The question remains, can Al-Nassr maintain the kind of play they are putting forth?. The future holds the answer for sure. However, the Ronaldo-led outfit is looking hungry for success more than ever. The intent looks sharp and the focus unflinching. It is all good for Al-Nassr at the moment. Hope it stays that way.
The title chasers and table toppers travel to Buraydah on Saturday to take on new entrants Al-Hazm. The match could witness yet another goal-scoring show.
