Nottingham Forest Lose To Chelsea – Postecoglou Sacked

Nottingham Forest Lose To Chelsea

It Is Going Haywire For Forest

It is going haywire for Nottingham Forest. The team, which was the toast of the Premier League last year, appears to be in complete disarray, having slipped to 18th position and into the relegation zone after Match Day 8 of the new EPL season.

No Room For Ange

The Tricky Trees went down to Chelsea 0-3 at home in a scratchy, wasteful performance this evening, resulting in the sacking of Manager Ange Postecoglou, within 20 minutes of the completion of the game.

Lasting just 39 days, Postecoglou’s tenure at Nottingham Forest was nothing but awful. Of the 8 games in charge, the former Tottenham Manager failed to win a single contest, losing 6 and drawing 2. In the process, his team conceded 18 goals and scored just 7, resulting in a goal difference of -11.

Departure Of Nuno Has Created A Mess For Nottingham

I was first and foremost extremely surprised when Nuno Santos, who had superbly managed Nottingham Forest, parted ways with the Club. Postecoglou was almost immediately announced as his replacement. The instability created by Nuno’s exit, in a way, has pushed the Club, which was soaring to new heights, into an unnecessary mess.

Losses Weighing Heavily

The string of losses is playing on the minds of the players, and the desperation to win is leading to errors. In today’s match, the fans began leaving the stadium once their home team got two goals behind. This would have further accentuated the pressure already reigning heavily on the players.

Evangelos Marinakis, Forest’s owner, also left his seat after Chelsea went ahead 2-0. Probably, he had already made up his mind about Postecoglou’s future.

Chelsea Continue To Impress

Chelsea, on the other hand, once again put up a good performance with Acheampong, Neto and James scoring clean winners and securing vital 3 points for the Blues.

Tricky Days For The Tricky Trees

For Nottingham Forest, there is still time to stage a turnaround. The decision of the Management in the coming days will set the course for the Tricky Trees.
