Al-Ittihad : A Mixed Bag
The Defending Champions are up against it. Al-Ittihad have been a bit of a mixed bag at the start of the new season. With 3 wins from 4 games and one loss to their nemesis and arch rivals Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, placed 3rd on the table will open Match Day 5 with an away encounter against Al-Feiha, at the King Salman Sports City Stadium in Al Majma’ah, today.
Al-Feiha Need To Be Steady
Al-Feiha, on the other hand, are placed 9th in the Saudi Pro League, now being referred to as the Roshn Saudi League or the RSL, with 2 wins, a draw, and a loss. Al-Feiha’s last match was a disappointing loss to Al Zulfi on penalties in the King’s Cup of Champions. Al-Feiha also need to be steady in their performances and find themselves in the mid-table reckoning, with improvements in insight.
Al-Ittihad & A Starry Line-up
Al-Ittihad are coming into the match after losses to Shabab Al-Ahli in the AFC Champions League and Al- Nassr in their previous RSL match. A bit of a dampner, but Al-Ittihad are a robust side and would be banking on their captain Karim Benzema and their starry line-up including Fabinho, Bergwijn and N’Golo Kanté to deliver.
Al-Feiha – Not Far Behind
Al-Feiha also has a fairly good lineup, including Alfa Semedo, Yassine Benzia, and Silvère Ganvoula, who can trouble any defence in the world. Quick counters would be the ideal ploy for Feiha, backed by a very organised defence.
Al-Ittihad Have The Upper Hand
The match, however, is for Al-Ittihad to lose. In their last 5 meetings, Al-Ittihad have won 3 times while there have been 2 draws. Al-Ittihad have not lost to Al-Feiha in recent times. And though they may be a bit off colour in their last two games, the Jeddah-based club should pull it off with at least a 1-goal margin if not more.
