Mo Salah was exceptional in Liverpool’s charge to the English Premier League crown in the 24/25 season. His tally of 29 goals in winning the Golden Boot and also the highest number of assists, 18, made Mo Salah’s performance truly sensational for Liverpool.
The Magician from Nagrig, Egypt, has been a pillar in Liverpool’s squad and one of the most consistent players in the English Premier League and Europe. With 301 appearances in the EPL and 186 goals, Salah is already a legend of the EPL. However, as much as I want him to win the Ballon d’Or along with a host of fans across the world, it seems Mo Salah may just miss the coveted Trophy one more time.
Liverpool played sensational football last season. In the Champions League too, they were unbeaten before the knockouts began, but then Paris Saint-Germain struck form when it mattered and outshot Liverpool on penalties in a tense Round of 16. Liverpool were looking good but lacked some more spirit to get over the line.
The EFL Carabao Cup was another opportunity for Mo Salah to add another trophy to the EPL crown. The final played at Wembley between the Reds and Newcastle, was a match that Newcastle dominated and eventually won. The Reds had another heartbreak.
In a season where Mo Salah could have had 3 trophies to show for his tremendous effort, he could manage just 1, which, in my opinion, may be the factor due to which the Ballon d’Or might just elude him.
What a player Salah has been. A true entertainer, with unmatched skills as a player. The famous left foot, the precision in his striking, the control in his finishing, and the speed in his legs, just make him one of the finest in the Sport.
A player who deserves the Ballon d’Or.
