FIFA Club World Cup : Kane Brace Powers Bayern Past Flamengo

Bayern beat Flamengo

Bayern vs Flamengo At Hard Rock, Miami

Bayern vs Flamengo. The Hard Rock Stadium in Miami was buzzing with electric energy as Flamengo fans from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, thronged the arena. The Brazilians were pitted against the Bavarian Champions, Bayern Munich, in the round of 16 match of the FIFA Club World Cup. A thriller was on the cards, and the match lived up to its expectations.

Bayern Take Early Advantage

The Bundesliga Champions were up and running as they moved 2-0 ahead in the first 10 minutes of the game. An own goal from Flamengo and a fine strike ( assisted by a deflection) from none other than Harry Kane had given Bayern an early advantage.

Flamengo Strike Through A Brilliant Gerson

Flamengo had to strike back, and they did, through sheer individual brilliance from Gerson, who struck with such power that the ball flew over the experienced Neuer even before he could raise his hands to stop the ball. It was indeed a terrific strike.

Leon Goretzka Restores Bayern Advantage

Bayern, not to be undone by the Gerson screamer, restored the 2 goal advantage through an equally brilliant long distance strike from Leon Goretzka. The Flamengo fans were stunned by the German midfielder’s precise wallop. It was 3-1 in favour of Bayern at the break.

Flamengo Hit Back Through Jorginho

Flamengo were not quitting yet as they held more possession than Bayern and had more shots than their German opponents. Eventually, their hard work paid off as the Brazilians won a penalty from a Michael Olise handball, which Jorginho converted with ease. The deficit was again reduced to a solitary goal in the 55th minute.

Harry Kane’s Sublime Touch Wins It For Bayern

The legend of Harry Kane resurfaced in the match once again, as one of the finest strikers in the history of the game ( though grossly underrated) scored a peach with an exquisite finish in the 73rd minute. The goal was the result of fine cooperation between Joshua Kimmich and Harry Kane. The two-goal advantage was restored again. Bayern held Flamengo at bay and ensured a 4-2 victory to knock over the Brazilians and enter the Quarter Finals of the Club World Cup.

Bayern Face PSG In Atlanta Next

Harry Kane’s brace was the determining factor of the game as the 6-goal thriller went Bayern’s way to set up a thrilling, all European Quarter Final between Bayern and PSG to be played on the 5th of July at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. A humdinger, it is going to be.
