SRH Hammer RR As Hyderabad Is Submerged In A Run Deluge

SRH Hammer RR

Beware Of The SRH Bat

If you are aspiring to become a Bowler, then you should not watch Sunrisers Hyderabad Bat, as the Hyderabadis can cause serious damage to the psyche of a Bowler. This is exactly what transpired in Hyderabad last evening as SRH hammered RR in the TATA IPL Match no. 2.

SRH vs RR : All My Predictions Come True

I had clearly mentioned in my Preview and even while commenting on the SRH team, that they have the most explosive opening batting pair in the world at this point of time. I had also mentioned that Ishan Kishan had a great opportunity to resurrect his career and that RR were a shade weaker in the bowling department. Incidentally, all my predictions came true and though I can pat my back for it, I am seriously astonished at the batsmanship on display.

RR Need To Do Some Homework

Riyan Parag stand-in Captain for Sanju Samson, opted to bowl after winning the toss took me by surprise. The RR think-tank should have through some data from last year’s IPL.

SRH Make Merry

With a lucky toss to lose, Pat Cummins led SRH went on to do what they are best at. Blessed with some amazingly skillful talent upfront in the form of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, the Orange Army had already 94 runs in the first 6 overs. Abhishek was looking good with both finesse and power but unfortunately perished in the covers, but Travis Head ( the best batter in the world at the moment considering the impact he has made), kept on rollicking with his brilliant off drives, pulls and the straight downers, in the company of Ishan Kishan.

Travis Inspires Ishan

Once Travis Head left for a scintillating 67 of 31 balls, Ishan Kishan just took up the mantle. His two inside-out sixes of Jofra Archer were a treat to watch. His belligerence grew as the boundaries began to mount. A hapless Riyan Parag just watched in agony as the RR bowlers bore the brunt of an unprecedented attacking mindset.

Ishan Kishan’s Game Changer For SRH

Nitish Reddy and Heinrich Klassen played lovely cameos as Ishan Kishan ushered his maiden IPL ton. His unconquered innings of 106 of 47 balls may just be the game-changer in Ishan’s career.

SRH Set Huge Target as Jofra Archer Suffers

SRH amassed a massive 286 in 20 overs just one run short of the IPL record of 287 which they had achieved against RCB last season. Jofra Archer had a bad day at the office. The English pace bowler was taken to the cleaners like never before and by the time he finished he had conceded a record 76 runs. He had been punished for 19 runs per over.

Good From Tushar

All the bowlers suffered except Tushar Deshpande who returned with decent figures of 3-44 from his 4.

Jurel and Sanju Samson Fight For RR

In reply, RR lost Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, and Nitish Rana early and only a couple of fighting knocks from Dhruv Jurel ( 70 of 35 ) and Sanju Samson ( 66 of 37 ) saved RR the blues in a losing battle. Shimron Hetmyer and Shubham Dubey too made merry and yielded the long handle to good effect.

SRH Comfortable Winners

In the end SRH were comfortable winners by 44 runs. Ishan Kishan was declared the POTM on a day when 528 runs were scored in 40 overs ( the second-highest in the history of the IPL falling short of 549 between SRH and RCB last year).

A Run Deluge

Beware of SRH and never ask them to bat first in Hyderabad, is a lesson learned. The City is still reeling under the ‘ Run Deluge ‘.
