Arsenal vs Chelsea At The Emirates Tonight
Arsenal vs Chelsea tonight at the Emirates Stadium is arguably one of the most critical matches in the ongoing EPL season. The result of which will have a telling effect on the EPL title race and the race for qualification to the UEFA Champions League in the new season.
A Crucial Game for Both Arsenal and Chelsea
Arsenal are in second place behind leaders Liverpool. The Gunners are 15 points behind and have an opportunity to cut down the lead to 12 and keep them in the hunt for the title. A slip here might just cost them a shot at Liverpool and eventually jolt their chances for the EPL Crown. Chelsea on the other hand are at the 4th position and though challenging Liverpool would take some getting, a win here will boost their chances for Europe. A host of teams from Manchester City, Aston Villa, Brighton, Newcastle, etc are breathing down the Blues’ neck. Last evening’s draw at the Etihad between Manchester City and Brighton has been of some good help to Chelsea.
In Recent History, Arsenal have the Edge Over Chelsea
Arsenal are riding high on their victory over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League and though their EPL form off late has not been that great ( the Gunners have won just 2 of their last 5 games ), their record against Chelsea in their last 5 encounters with the arch-rival will give them lots of hope. Chelsea has failed to beat Arsenal in their last 5 encounters losing 3 of them and drawing a couple. The turn of the tide rests with Arsenal at the moment.
Injured Stars On Both Sides
A host of injuries on both sides has affected their performances this season without a doubt. Arsenal would be without Bukayo Saka, Havertz and Jesus. No wonder their goal-scoring abilities have taken a hit, though Gabriel, Declan Rice, Martinelli and Trossard have tried their best to make good the absence of their star players. Chelsea too have been suffering with the absence of Jackson and Madueke and their performance against Arsenal tonight might just be hampered.
Prediction
It looks like a tight contest, and though Arsenal have the edge, the match may end in a 1-1 draw.
