A Celestial Combat
The beautiful Melbourne Night witnessed an amazing celestial combat between two fine tennis players, the American Madison Keys and the favourite,Polish Iga Swiatek. The match swirled and oscillated like a pendulum, refusing to stop. But Madison Keys held her nerve, saved a match point, earned one of her own and converted it, to hold the pendulum to her side.
Swiatek Fails To Wrap It Up
Madison Keys eventually won 5-7, 6-1, 7-6(10-8) of which the last set being the real Humdinger. Keys, a veteran of sorts, a player who promised so much, eventually reached another final with a shot at winning her first Grand Slam. Swiatek, the world no.2, gave her best, had her chance of wrapping the game, but missed at a crucial juncture.

The 3 Defining Moments In The Game
There were 3 defining moments in the match.At 6-5 and 40-30, the match point was coming up for Swiatek. She got her first serve in, but it went to the booming forehand of Keys. She belted a mighty return. The ball came back with such power that the Swiatek mistimed her stroke and netted it instead. The match point was gone. Keys won the game and forced the match into a tie-breaker. In the tie-breaker too, Swiatek was ahead at 7-5, but Keys reeled off 5 points of the next 6 to win the gruelling battle. Her winning 5 straight games in the second set was also a crucial phase of the match.
Keys’ Grit Wins It For Her
Keys’ grit and resistance lasted a bit more than Swiatek’s , which in my opinion was the only difference between the two players.
Next Up Sabalenka
Madison Keys would be up against the double defending Champion Aryna Sabalenka on Saturday for the Crowing Glory. It will not be that easy for Keys, she will be the underdog. Who knows her grit triumphs once again.
