Zverev Enters AO’25 Finals As Djokovic Withdraws

It was an anti-climax of sorts as Novak Djokovic withdrew from the Semi-Finals after a gruelling first set Tie-Break.

Zverev won the tie breaker 7-5 and then Novak Djokovic withdrew citing fitness issues. A match which was turning out to be a thrilling contest, was nipped in the bud by the Djokovic injury.

Zverev will now face the defending Champion and World No.1 Jannik Sinner on Sunday evening for the all important Australian Open Trophy. It will be a contest between the world’s no.1 and no.2 players.

Sinner would undoubtedly be  the favourite, but Zverev has all the ammunition to give the champion a run for his money.

Djokovic had a splendid run until his body gave up a bit in the end. A true Champion indeed, will be back in a few months time for the French Open in Paris.
