Mohd Shami, India’s bowling Star of the Cricket World Cup held in Oct 2023 has been picked to represent India in the Champions Trophy next month. Shami, after a long injury lay-off, during which he missed the Border-Gavaskar Series in Australia, would be donning Indian Colours once again. A big boost for the India Contingent.
Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh, the white ball regulars would also be returning to the India squad. The selectors sprung no surprises and picked the team on expected lines to be led by Rohit Sharma.
With injury concerns surrounding Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian Spearhead’s progress would be monitored leading up to the tournament. Yashasvi Jaiswal, with his fabulous performances in the past 1 year has earned a call up to the ODI side and might open the innings with skipper Rohit Sharma.
Notably, Sanju Samson and Mohd Siraj missed the bus.
