A Brilliant Savinho Led Manchester City Beat West Ham

Brilliant Savinho Led Manchester City win at Etihad

Etihad Roars Again As City Win

The Etihad Stadium finally came alive as the defending Champions roared again after  a series of painful whimpers. The visitors West Ham suffered another hammering (after their 0-5 defeat to Liverpool) as City went about their merry ways in the New Year, inspired by an exceptional 20 year old from Brazil.

The Awe Inspiring Savinho

It was Savinho’s night without an iota of doubt. It appeared as if the young Brazilian was playing on a different field. It was a mesmerizing display of skill, speed and team work as 3 goals out of the 4 scored by Manchester City came through the exploits of Savinho.

Absolute Brilliance From City’s Winger

The way he carved his moves and placed the ball was truly inspirational. The first goal though was an own goal from West Ham, the effort was Savinho’s. The next two goals were brilliantly set up by Savinho for Erling Haaland to score. First a header from an exquisite pin point cross and then a lovely pass through the centre with Erling Haaland making no mistake with his left foot.

Erling Haaland Back To Scoring

The brace from Haaland was another heartening feature for City as their talismanic striker appeared to have regained his mojo. Kevin de Bruyne then set up Phil Foden to score City’s 4th goal.

West Ham Outplayed

West Ham were completely outplayed and lacked some serious intent on the field, though  they  did manage to reduce the deficit. Fullkrug scoring in the second half for the Hammers. West Ham have been under the pump conceding 9 goals in two matches creating huge problems for their Manager Lopetegui.

Manchester City’s Win Balms Guardiola

The pressure on Pep Guardiola would have surely eased with two back to back wins for the legendary coach. A much convincing performance it was from Manchester City. The smile on Guardiola’s face said it all.

The Champions would be travelling to Brentford next week for a tricky clash in a much better frame of mind.

Kudos Savinho !!
