India vs Australia: Sydney Test , Just A Few Hours Away

The Climax…

The climax of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is slated to be played out at the celebrated Sydney Cricket Ground just a few hours from now. The match not only will decide the outcome of this exceptional series, but also decide the future of many players from both sides. Without doubt the match has gained huge interest across nations.

India With Problems While Aussies Confident

Australia after winning the Melbourne Test in the final session of the final day of the match would be high on confidence going into Sydney while India beset with a few problems would be treading a cautious path. There is a possibility of some significant decisions being taken by the Indian think tank.

Some Major Changes Expected From India

There are reports doing the rounds that Rohit Sharma, after a terrible loss in form may drop himself. Bumrah might captain the Indian side and Shubham Gill would step in place of Rohit Sharma in the batters list. There is also talk that Rishabh Pant would be replaced by Dhruv Jurel. However these are conjectures and it may so happen that none of these changes take place.

I Have A Different Opinion

In my opinion, Rohit Sharma dropping himself would be unprecedented and would be an extremely difficult call to take . It would virtually signal the end of his career. Replacing Rishabh Pant would be harsh and though I don’t condone his shots at the MCG, dropping him would be akin to a punishment given to an errant kid.

Prasidh, Easwaran, Sarfaraz the Bench Warmers

Akashdeep is injured and so Prasidh Krishna after a while in the wilderness may just play his first match of the series. But spare a thought for Abhimanyu Easwaran , the domestic star who must have been tired now of warming benches and Sarfaraz who not so long ago had scored a 150 ( we can count on our fingers the number of tons scored by our batters of late ).

Beau Replaced Mitch

Australia have made one change by axing Mitch Marsh whose pathetic form had damaged the Aussie middle order. Beau Webster, the fine all rounder from Tasmania would be making his debut. The Tasmanian has an amazing record with both bat and ball and he is getting his opportunity after a long wait .

A Pulsating Contest In The Offing

I am looking forward to another pulsating contest and a befitting farewell to the series. A draw or a win for Australia would result in India losing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after more than a decade and a win for India would keep the Aussie hands off the trophy.

Coming up in a few hours.
