Dortmund-Barcelona On Equal Footing
With 12 points from 5 games and placed 6th and 7th in the UEFA Champions League Table resp., Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund are slated to meet tonight at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund on Match Day 6 of the Champions League. A win here for either of the teams will consolidate their position in the top 8, boosting their chances for a direct berth in the Round of 16.
Star Studded Barcelona
Barcelona on top of the La Liga at the moment, slightly ahead of Real Madrid played out a 2-2 draw against Real Betis and would be looking to get past Dortmund before they host Leganes this weekend. Their previous game in the Champions League was a fine 3-0 win over Brest. Ex- Dortmund player Robert Lewandowski scored his 100th goal in the Champions League and would be more than ready for locking horns with his former club. The Polish legend along with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal and the brilliant Raphina would pose a serious threat to Dortmund.

Dortmund’s Guirassy, The Player To Watch
Dortmund currently placed 6th in the Bundesliga with title hopes almost receding, played out a draw against Monchengladbach this Saturday, while their previous Champions League game was an impressive 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb. A win against Barcelona does not look easy for the Germans, but the presence of their star striker, the Guinean, Serhou Guirassy, will give Dortmund much hope in the encounter tonight.

Hansi Flick, Barcelona’s Manager is hands on when it comes to German Football, having played and coached Dortmund’s biggest rival Bayern Munich. It’s advantage Barcelona for me, even though Dortmund would have the home advantage and vociferous home support. Nuri Sahin, Dortmund’s Manager looks confident of getting past the Catalans.
