Barcelona were facing their nemesis once again. Bayern had dominated Barcelona since a few years. Bayern had been severe on them, but there was this unfamiliar feeling of the tide turning last night as the teams assembled at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, Barcelona’s home ground at the moment.

An Unsuspecting Bayern

The wind was blowing and the tide turning for sure as the Spanish Giants began to play in a different plane. Raphina, the Brazilian was in his finest touch, as if possessed by the atmosphere. Bayern were in for a surprise.

Brilliant Raphina Ensures A Barcelona Victory

Whatever Raphina touched turned to gold. His 3 remarkable strikes left Bayern dazed and though Harry Kane did get one back, Bayern just could not recover from Raphina’s blows. Brilliant runs from the Brazilian were simply breathtaking and the finish was exceptional. His first was a good left footer, but the second one was a classy off- balance right footer which even Neuer ( a goalkeeping legend ) could do nothing about. The ball soared and curled in the air ever so precisely to best Neuer. The third goal was again a powerful left footer, struck on the run, beating Neuer for pace. It was exhilarating stuff from the Brazilian. In the milee, Lewandowski too got an easy one and Barcelona triumphed over Bayern 4-1.

Bayern, just did not have answers to the precision, terrific ball play and exquisite finishing from Barcelona. They were literally stunned.

The Catalans Bury The Omen

It was a night to remember for the Catalans, they had eventually buried their Bayern Omen.
