Trust is a Team fixative and developing it is a process which takes time. There are several building blocks which help conjure trust and eventually lead to an efficient, effective and a productive Team. To bring this trust   together,  lets have a look at the critical initiatives required to be taken.

Accomodation

This is one of the first and foremost  attributes in a trust building exercise. For team members to accommodate each others views, opinions, likes and dislikes, mannerisms, characteristics, knowledge and intellect  are the first steps towards a trusting interpersonal relationship. A mere acceptance of one another lays the foundation of a good team.

Unhindered Communication

Trust leads to seamless communication and exchange of views. However to develop trust,  unhindered communication is a prerequisite. Unless and until the team engages, discusses and shares views, trust cannot be developed. As communication develops so does trust. Team members feel assured and confident of being heard which reduces guarded responses and cagey deliberations. Unhindered, transparent and honest communication  reduces  trust deficits and creates a healthy trusting environment.

Informal Settings 

Getting the team to interact in informal settings is a great Ice Breaker. Meeting informally, participating in team exercises and games together goes a long way in strengthening mutual understanding and cohesiveness, which eventually leads to Trust. Every team should have an escape room for informal activities. 

Consistent Leadership

It all begins at the top. The team leaders have to be consistent with their words and actions. The environment of trust has to be built by them. They have to create an atmosphere where team members can feel secured and can rely on them in difficult situations. The leaders have to ensure that they keep their commitments to the team, walk the talk, lead by example and most importantly be the first ones to Trust.

The above initiatives are a must for building the Trust engine and laying the foundation of a great Team. Investing in Trust has great returns guaranteed.
